Chatham Area Transit (CAT) Update:
- SCCPSS zero-fare student pass partnership has ended; students now required to purchase CAT discounted fares.
- Student fares: $0.75 per ride or $25.00 per month.
- Passes available online or at the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center (610 W. Oglethorpe Ave), Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- CAT remains committed to affordable student transportation and will continue discussions with SCCPSS about a possible 2027-2028 partnership.
7/28/2026- Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) is informing riders, parents, and guardians of an important update regarding student transit passes for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.
The previous zero-fare student pass partnership between Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) and the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) has concluded. As a result, students who ride CAT to and from school will be required to purchase CAT’s discounted student fare beginning this school year.
Student fares remain available at a reduced rate of $0.75 per ride or $25.00 per month.

Monday–Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
CAT remains committed to providing affordable transportation options for students and families throughout Chatham County. The Authority looks forward to continuing discussions with SCCPSS regarding future opportunities to support student transportation, including the possibility of a renewed partnership for the 2027–2028 school year.
