Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration

After much, much anticipation, IKEA Memphis has finally completed their redesign! Last week they celebrated their grand reopening and it was quite the fun the event! I’ve partnered with IKEA Memphis in the past (they helped me design my home office) and visited multiple times a month before they started on the updates, so I was excited to be invited to the event and help spread the word!

My friend Carmeon Hamilton did the ribbon cutting (she really is THAT girl), and the way people were lined up before festivities started showed just how much people were anticipating being able to fully shop the store again. In addition the ribbon cutting, there were gift card giveaways, live art painting with Joseph Boyd, Arlington High orchestra performed, face painting for the kiddos, a photo booth, Trezevant High School’s marching band performed, and Tonya Dyson DJ’d. It was a literal party!

So with the re-design, the flow of the store feels much more intentional, so it’s easier to navigate and shop. They still have the same amount of product (in all honesty it feels like there’s more), and I love the fact that the children’s area has been redesigned with the littles in mind, so there are tables, chairs and other furniture pieces placed throughout the area and at THEIR level, so parents can really see how certain things will fit in their spaces at home. The dining room has also been updated to include a 100-plus seat Swedish restaurant and Swedish food market. It truly feels like a new store!

This is the only IKEA in Tennessee, so not only have the Showroom and the IKEA Markethall been updated, but they now offer more services (Click and Collect, Kitchen Measuring and Installation, TaskRabbit), and they have a brand-new Central Planning Hub, where IKEA experts will be on hand to help customers plan and order home furnishing solutions for kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms. It’s also SUPER easy to order online for in-store pickup, so whether you’re traveling from another city or a different neighborhood, you can quickly get what you need.

Since the grand re-opening last week I’ve already been back TWICE, so suffice it to say I’m happy they’re back open, lol. To learn more about IKEA Memphis, their local events and services that they offer, click here.
