On Saturday, November 15, Bank of America Savannah-area employees helped build a Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity home site. Bank of America volunteers donated their time and talent alongside the program’s future homeowner by installing the siding on the home.

    Key takeaways
    • Longstanding partnership: Habitat for Humanity and Bank of America have collaborated for over 30 years.
    • Volunteer impact: Bank of America employees contribute more than 35,000 hours annually to Habitat initiatives.
    • Mission focus: Partnership supports building safe, energy-efficient, affordable homes in the community.
    • Community goal: Effort aims to promote economic mobility and a more sustainable Savannah.
    • Local reach: Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity serves Chatham County and expanding to Bryan and Liberty Counties.

“We are very grateful to our local Bank of America partner for securing funds to help build safe, energy efficient and affordable homes in Chatham County,” said Zerik Samples, Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity. “We look forward to continuing this vital partnership and achieving the joint goal of giving families a good place to live.”

Habitat for Humanity and Bank of America have partnered for more than 30 years, helping homeowners build or improve the places they call home. Each year, volunteers give more than 35,000 hours to Habitat in their communities through board service, home build initiatives and financial literacy training for future Habitat homeowners.

“Affordable housing is fundamental for individuals and families to achieve economic mobility,” said Patrick O’Neil, president, Bank of America Savannah. “Partnering with Habitat and engaging our employees to volunteer  is one way we can help build a more sustainable Savannah community.”
