  • A portion of every purchase funds pollinator research and expands food access in underserved communities.

Savannah State University alum Sade Shofidiya has taken her passion for pollinators, wellness, and community impact to the national stage. Her newly launched company, Neighborhood Nectar, made its debut earlier this month at the USDA’s Great American Farmers Market on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The event, held August 3–8, celebrated 250 years of American agriculture and featured top farmers and food producers from across the country. Neighborhood Nectar’s booth showcased two signature products: the Golden Glow Elixir—a handcrafted herbal honey beverage—and Wildflower Honey, a raw, small-batch honey sourced from the Southeast.

During the week, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner visited Shofidiya’s booth to meet her, learn about the brand, and purchase products in support of its launch.

“This was my very first event and my official launch for Neighborhood Nectar,” said Shofidiya. “To be selected to vend here, in such a historic space, alongside so many incredible farmers—it means everything. As a very small farmer and the only full-time person in my business, I truly appreciate the USDA’s support in making this possible. I’m proud to represent Georgia, pollinators, and purpose-driven food—and to carry the spirit of Savannah State with me wherever I go.”

Neighborhood Nectar is a proud Georgia Grown company dedicated to supporting local agriculture, protecting pollinator health, and making wellness rituals sweet, simple, and accessible. As the consumer brand of Shofidiya’s agritech company BEEnevolent, a portion of every purchase supports pollinator research and expands food access in underserved communities.
