TRAFFIC ALERT: Temporary Lane Closures in Effect Due to Benton Boulevard Resurfacing Project
SAVANNAH – The City of Savannah has begun the Benton Boulevard Resurfacing Project, resulting in temporary lane closures along the roadway.
The project includes milling and resurfacing approximately 2.25 miles of Benton Boulevard from the Pooler city limits to Highlands Boulevard to improve pavement conditions and extend the roadway service life.
Deep pavement patching is currently underway. Overnight milling and paving will begin Friday, July 31, and continue nightly until completion. The project is expected to take three to four weeks, weather permitting.
To minimize impacts to daytime traffic, construction activities will occur during overnight hours and will require temporary lane closures. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone, watch for changing traffic patterns, and allow additional travel time during construction.
Overnight Work Hours:
- Friday – Saturday: 9 p.m. – 7 a.m.
- Sunday – Thursday: 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
